Correction

I have mentioned as if the project crashes are definite units and cannot be split into parts.

But you can. In here you will assume the activity there’s a linear relationship between Extra amount spent and No. of days reduced.

So for activity B we can do

1. 1 day reduction spending Rs 1000 more or
2. 2 days reduction spending Rs 2000 more or
3. 3 days reduction spending Rs 3000 more

So if you need you can reduce one day at a time for each activity and see if the constraints in the critical path are not violated.

But in terms of the question explained in the kuppi, the activity D can still be selected as an approach to do crashing within the constraints.

If doing such a step, mention that assumption and clearly say you are crashing to a certain fraction value.
